Shopping. It's one of my favorite pastimes. I mean who doesn't like to shop? And if you follow me on Instagram, you already know that I frequent Target and the Dollar Tree a lot! So, I thought I'd share a few of my favorite items that I picked up during one of my recent mini shopping hauls.
Dollar Tree
Usually when I'm out shopping, my first stop is always the Dollar Tree. Why? That's the store I usually have a list for. I know by now what products they sell and follow a few Facebook groups and YouTubers who keep me updated on new product rollouts. My faves from this trip all happen to be hair products.
Moo asked is she could stop wearing her hair in braids in all the time and I agreed that she was old enough to start wearing her hair down. Plus, I felt like how can I help her embrace her natural curls if she nevers gets to show them off?! My mission was to find some products that we could experiment with and use to help make her hair easier to manage. Check out the products we found and have been using for the past week below.
- Lusti Organics Olive Oil Detangling Spray: Not only does this spray detangle but it also conditions and has amino proteins that help to strengthen the hair. While this spray does have few parabens in it, there other natural ingredients such as sage and rosemary in here as well. This stuff detangles like a charm on both damp and dry hair. I've already added this my shopping list for my next Dollar Tree trip.
- Lusti Naturals Argan Oil Curl Wave Twist Shaping Gel: I picked this gel because I wanted something that would help to define and hold her curls without making them hard as bricks. Also, Moo has a naturally dry scalp and I knew whatever gel we went with, it would need some sort of oil/moisturizer to avoid over drying and irritating her scalp and hair more. What like about this gel is that it does define her curls beautifully and helps to eliminate 90% of her frizz. I would say that this gel has a medium firm hold. This product definitely works better on mixed texture hair like Moo's as opposed to coarse hair like mine since I did experience some flaking and zero curl definition.
- Lusti Naturals Argan Oil Hair Moisturizer: I like to use the moisturizer after I spray on the detangler, but before I apply the shaping gel. Two quarter size squirts is usually all that she needs and I work in well with my fingers from root to tip. In my opinion, I feel that using the moisturizer helps to add a layer of protection between her hair and the shaping while also working with the detangling spray to further condition the hair. If you enjoy Pink Lotion, you'll probably like this product.
Target
I feel like I spend so much time in Target that I should have my own little VIP section. JJ and I usually hit up the Target closest to us at least three to four days a week. Before you give me the side eye, let me say that I don't always purchase things on these trips. I just like to check out the clearance deals and I've been stalking their camera display since my camera has gone to an early grave. They have a really good Fugi on sale right now, but I'm a Canon girl. Maybe, if it goes on a double clearance markdown I will pick it up.
Anyways, I went to Target for the sole purpose of picking up some socks for Moo. Her feet have literally been growing like weeds. She requested socks that were either Frozen/Disney Princess related or purple. Here's what I found below.
On the plus side, I did manage to find socks that were Frozen/Disney Princess themed as well as purple. On the downside, they only had three pairs in her size. But they got a new truck in this week and that means I'll be back tomorrow to pick up at least three more pairs for next school year. She only has a few more days of school left and during summer break she lives in sandals.

What your favorite stores to shop? Any hair product recommendations for kids with curly hair?
I love that deep conditioner. I use it for Addi. Love me some Dollar Tree!
ReplyDeleteYes, the Dollar Tree is my spot! They have new line of hair products I'm interested in trying out, but I'm trying to be patient and finish up what I have before I buy them.
DeleteI love Target but they are closing the ones down near me only one left within a 30 minute drive. I haven't been to the dollar tree in a minute I would love to know what Facebook groups or youtube videos are out there for this I am off to search right now.
ReplyDeleteOh NOOOOO!! That stinks! I would be sad without my Target.
DeleteXOXO
Yes, I heard that Target has been closing up quite a few stores recently. Since their designer collaboration lines always seem to sell out, maybe they should start doing them more frequently to help bring in more revenue! And you're welcome to join us in the Dollar Tree and Stores Hauls and Finds group on Facebook. Most of the ladies are also YouTubers and do weekly hauls on their channels.
DeleteI love Target so much.
ReplyDeleteIt's my favorite store and I always spend way too much money there.

Target will get your wallet every time! They just have such cute stuff and now that I can double my savings using manufacturer and store coupons, I find more reasons to justify picking up stuff.
DeleteYes! I love both the Dollar Tree and Target! I'm sure this summer we'll have plenty visits to both. I can usually find some great things to craft with at DT at obvious good prices. Target is Target, I love it. The only thing that would make my Target better is if it had a Starbucks, like the one back in IL, but I'll be thankful I have a Target at all. I didn't know there were Targets closing!
ReplyDeleteXOXO
I think almost all of our Targets have a Starbucks or they at least offer a few of the Starbucks drinks in the cafe. And we've already started picking up some items from the Dollar Tree like paint and playdough.
DeleteI am so obsessed with Target. I have to give myself a budget every time before I walk in as a form of self control but I almost always go over anyway!
ReplyDeleteHow does Target do that? Just suck away your self control and spending budget? Thanks for stopping by!
DeleteI love Target!! I feel like I live in there as well. They have such great selection of items at a great price. Thanks for sharing!

Yes, their prices are really good. And now that summer is here their clearance has been looking fantastic, especially with the extra 20% off Cartwheel coupon.
DeleteMy boyfriend gets so mad at me when I drag him through the Target dollar aisle! Dollar Tree is my go-to place when I'm planning a shower!

My husband refuses to go shopping with me. I have spent hours in Target before. I feel like I have to see every single thing to make sure I'm not missing out on some surprise clearance or new products.
DeleteLove this! I love the Target dollar aisle! It's the best!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing!!

Isn't it awesome?! Thanks for stopping by.
DeleteI have to try those Luster hair products. I didn't even know they came out with new ones.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely give them a try!
DeleteI absolutely love picking up cleaning supplies at the Dollar Tree, it saves SO much money!
ReplyDeleteXo, Rach | Seashells + Sparkles
Agreed! The dishwasher detergent worked great. Will be picking it up from the Dollar Tree now!
DeleteMy daughter has those Sofia socks! The weird thing is that no one can remember how she got them. She said they just showed up in her closet one day.
ReplyDeleteAnd she really needs detangling spray. So badly!
LOL. That has happened here as well. I think sometimes we get so distracted that we don't realize we've put other things into our buggies.
DeleteI love shopping at Dollar Tree and Target, my two absolute favorite stores where I can save money and still score some amazing deals. Love your haul, you found some great stuff.
ReplyDeleteI'm all about saving money and those are definitely my favorite stores to rack up savings at.
DeleteI'm absolutely obsessed with Target. The town I go to college in doesn't have a target and its always my first stop when I get home!
ReplyDeleteAnchors and Pearls
It's the complete opposite for me. Whenever I go back to my hometown to visit, I'm always going through Target withdrawals. Thank goodness they have Dollar Tree though!
DeleteLooks like you got some great items! Target's Dollar Spot is my favorite place to stop whenever I go!
ReplyDeleteI did. I'm really loving the Dollar Spot selections Target has this summer.
DeleteTarget Dollar Spot is dangerous! I find so many cute craft supplies there!
ReplyDeleteVery dangerous, but so addictive!
DeleteI frequent Target's dollar sport 3-4 times a week as well. Now, Dollar Tree I rarely go to, which I have no idea why. I even have one that is less than half a mile from my home, smh. I must check them out, especially for the hair care products. #BLMGirl
ReplyDeleteDefinitely give the Dollar Tree a try! They've really stepped up their game and been improving their selection and product quality.
DeleteClearly, I don't show Dollar Tree enough love. I'm missing out!
ReplyDeleteYes, definitely show them so more love.
DeleteYes!!! I love Dollar Tree, too! I make it my business to go at least once a week. I love that detangling spray as well. It works great on my daughter's hair. And those socks from Target are too cute!
ReplyDeleteThat detangling spray is amazing! We all use it and it cuts down on the amount of time I spend doing Moo's hair and taming JJ's curly fro.
