Unlimited Equals Limited

Hard to believe that it's already Monday again. My weekend didn't get off to best of starts.  Friday, I was going about my business of answering emails, writing, mommy duty, etc.  Then I get a tweet from my baby sister saying they can't get through to me on my phone.  Next, I get a Facebook notification from my younger sister saying the same.

So, I'm like what the heck is going on?  I go to find my phone and I try to call only to get a pre-recorded voice telling me that my account doesn't exist.  In my mind I'm thinking "that's a lie because I was just on this phone 12 hours ago."  The Mr comes home and he gets I the phone with the Sprint people and looks like little Miss Pre-recorded was right.  They had indeed deleted my account.

Why?  Well, it turns out that unlimited with Sprint isn't really unlimited.  You all know that I spend a lot of time at my mom's and on the go.  And I do travel outside of the Sprint network.  I never worried about roaming because well, our plan is unlimited.  But apparently, unlimited is really limited now.  According to several of the customer service agents we talked too, I was roaming too much and Sprint can terminate my account without even notifying me!

My response?  "That shit is bananas!  Yep, I said it.  It's crazy to think that after being a loyal customers with them over 3 years that they wouldn't have the decency to call or mail out a letter to let me know there was an issue.  I could see if our bill wasn't paid, but we pay on time!  And furthermore, it's not like I just started spending time at my mom's, we lived there for almost two years and the roaming wasn't a problem.  So, why is this now becoming an issue?

I'm beyond pissed.  I'm not going to let a cell phone tie me down.  And when I do travel, I'm going to use my phone. That's kind of the reason I got one in the first place.  But what I am going to do is find a new cell phone provider.  These big companies don't really give sticks about loyal customers who pay on time.  I hate they can change policies but don't have to notify customers.  We're suppose to be mind readers or something.

And those customer service agents are a joke.  Like you're copping attitude because I called to see what the deal was with my phone not working?  Wait, is that not your job?  Did I ask you to do something impossible like saw yourself in half?

I love technology but times and incidents like these make me wonder if all the frustrations we have to experience with it is worth it?

  1. Oh my gosh I HATE Sprint!!! My husband recently switched from T-Mobile to Sprint and things went from bad to worse. The service stunk, and I rarely had internet access. When we were in Atlanta my husband told me it would work better because Sprint has a 4G network in Atlanta. Well guess what? I had NO reception the entire time we were there. It was ridiculous.

If you are looking for a new cell phone provider, check out Verizon Wireless. I am participating in their ambassador program and I am absolutely LOVING the service! (I'm not just saying that because I am reviewing it, either.) My husband and my mom are switching to Verizon now, and I will be added once my review period with them is over.

I'm so sorry that happened to you. That shit IS bananas!

    1. You know I was actually looking into switching to Verizon. They are definitely in my top 2 right now. And I didn't have much of a signal in Atlanta either. So much for that 4G right?! Thank goodness we had the WiFi from Coca Cola!

  5. That's crazy! I hope it's all resolved now. Did they explain why they just shut a phone off without warning?

    1. Evidently roaming isn't truly unlimited despite the fact I'm paying for unlimited everything. And they updated their policy stating they don't have to give you any warning before deleting your account. Talk about craziness.
