Unlimited Equals Limited

Hard to believe that it's already Monday again. My weekend didn't get off to best of starts.  Friday, I was going about my business of answering emails, writing, mommy duty, etc.  Then I get a tweet from my baby sister saying they can't get through to me on my phone.  Next, I get a Facebook notification from my younger sister saying the same.

So, I'm like what the heck is going on?  I go to find my phone and I try to call only to get a pre-recorded voice telling me that my account doesn't exist.  In my mind I'm thinking "that's a lie because I was just on this phone 12 hours ago."  The Mr comes home and he gets I the phone with the Sprint people and looks like little Miss Pre-recorded was right.  They had indeed deleted my account.

Why?  Well, it turns out that unlimited with Sprint isn't really unlimited.  You all know that I spend a lot of time at my mom's and on the go.  And I do travel outside of the Sprint network.  I never worried about roaming because well, our plan is unlimited.  But apparently, unlimited is really limited now.  According to several of the customer service agents we talked too, I was roaming too much and Sprint can terminate my account without even notifying me!

My response?  "That shit is bananas!  Yep, I said it.  It's crazy to think that after being a loyal customers with them over 3 years that they wouldn't have the decency to call or mail out a letter to let me know there was an issue.  I could see if our bill wasn't paid, but we pay on time!  And furthermore, it's not like I just started spending time at my mom's, we lived there for almost two years and the roaming wasn't a problem.  So, why is this now becoming an issue?

I'm beyond pissed.  I'm not going to let a cell phone tie me down.  And when I do travel, I'm going to use my phone. That's kind of the reason I got one in the first place.  But what I am going to do is find a new cell phone provider.  These big companies don't really give sticks about loyal customers who pay on time.  I hate they can change policies but don't have to notify customers.  We're suppose to be mind readers or something.

And those customer service agents are a joke.  Like you're copping attitude because I called to see what the deal was with my phone not working?  Wait, is that not your job?  Did I ask you to do something impossible like saw yourself in half?

I love technology but times and incidents like these make me wonder if all the frustrations we have to experience with it is worth it?

iPhone on the Brain

I have to admit that I do spend a great deal of time of my cell phone.  I'm texting to keep up to date with my girlfriends from college, sending emails when I'm away from the house and adding events to my calendar.  And if that isn't enough, my phone currently serves as my personal digital camera.  While, I do love my phone for the most part, the one thing that really annoys me is all the unwanted apps that are on it.

Seriously, this phone would be perfect but there are apps on there that I don't and have no interest in using but can't be removed.  And this sucks big time because it's eating up my phone memory and prohibiting me from being able to download apps that I really want and will use.  So, I've been thinking that it might be time to switch over to an iPhone.  It seems to be getting some good reviews.

I just a phone that will allow me to choose what I do and don't want  on it.  Too much good money is paid on cell phones themselves and cell phone bills to not be able to have the option of choosing something so simple as what apps I want on my phone.  So, I'm going to search buy iPhone4 San Francisco ( heard the West coast has some good deals) or something along those lines to see what kind of prices I can find.

Do you have an iPhone?
