These last few weeks I have been taking some serious inventory of my life and were it's headed. I'm less than two months now from delivering my second child and I'm wondering if I'm going to be in over my head? Honestly, am I going to be able to function with 2 kids under the age of 3? Some of my family have already made it feel like I'm going to be serving some kind of prison sentence.
They've said things like 'Oh you're really going to be stuck in the house now,' or 'How do you plan on going back to school with two kids?' I've even been told that I'm living my life backwards. The proper order should have been finishing college, living on my own for 5 years, establishing a career, get married, wait another five years and then have kids. Like really who came up with this life sequence?
I don't feel like I'm living my life backwards. Everybody has their own unique path that they must follow. I've come to realize that having two kids at the ripe age of 25 is not a death sentence like most people try to make it seem. It was getting to point where I was actually starting to believe these people's mindsets. Well, I have snapped out of the trance.
I can and will prove to myself and these naysayers that I can still set out to accomplish everything that I want. Just because they feel as if they had kids too young and didn't go after their dreams doesn't mean that I have to use the same excuse. I am stepping my game up and making big moves. I am on well on my way to being a mogul and achieving all of my dreams.
I say to any and everyone reading this that you are in charge of your destiny. God gave us all free will for a reason. Use yours to go after what your heart desires and improve your station in life. Use it to become the change that you want to see and be. Don't buy into the nonsense that people will try to sell you about you not being able to do something because you have too many kids, you're too young ,etc.
You can be and do anything that you put your mind and best effort into. Take inventory of your life, your mindset and your actions. Then make the needed changes and get to living your best life today!! I know that I am!!
There are always naysayers out there and for some reason they think you should follow this cookie cutter plan which is crazy because if we look at the stats majority of the people getting married at the "right age" having kids at the right age "etc" are unhappy and divorced anyway.
ReplyDeleteKeep continuing to do you. I already know you're going to accomplish all your goals anyway!!!
You're right you cannot listen to others--it's all you. Make the best of life you make for you! I am just like you at 25 I had two kids and before I was thirty I had all three of my babies <3. Life is good--filled with laughs and smiles. Sometimes I stay up till 12:37 because I just finished my school paper(see you can still go to school) and wanted to check on one of my favorite blogs. Life does get hectic, but I am telling you life is good and the babies are such wonderful gifts to this life: ) Forget the HATERS! You got this and I hope to be along on the journey.
ReplyDeleteDo you--
AOK
I had my first daughter at 20, my second daughter at 27, got married at 32, my bachelors at 33, and my masters at 39. Some can say that I lived me life backwards but I have to tell you that if I had to do it all again I wouldn't change a thing about my life. I am happy and successful!
ReplyDeleteYou just keep doing what is best for you and your family and ignore the negative comments!
I have always wondered why people act like having two small children is crazy. My kids are 2 and 3 and we have another one on the way and I am also 25. The minute people hear that, they are like oh my. I don't see any problem with it. Young moms know how to balance pretty well. I actually think it is better to start young if you know what you're doing and where you're headed in life. I know that by the time I am in my 40's and my kids are teens, I will not have to work at all and can really keep an eye on them through those tough years.
ReplyDelete@Kim-You're right, I am going to accomplish my goals. Maybe not in the order that other ppl expect but hey this is my life.
ReplyDelete@Mrs AOK-I am certainly forgetting the haters and tuning out the naysayers!
@Nikki-I agree. I think my life is great the way it is.
@The Whites-I totally feel you about being able to keep an eye on the kids when they're teens. And I don't understand why ppl think having 2 young kids is crazy either. It's going to be an adventure but a great adventure.
Man.. I waited and did things in the so called proper order.. and it comes with its own challenges!
ReplyDeleteI lived on my own.. built a career.. got married.. bought a home.. and then found out I was pregnant which changed the course of my life... the career didnt matter as much- as I no longer wanted to work for other people... the home didnt matter because I wanted to be with my family now that the baby was coming.
Everything happens for a reason.. Everyones path is different! Enjoy your journey and know that you will achieve it all..and maybe end up ahead because of it..
SN- Its also daunting to think that when my daughter is 10.. Ill be 40- and my poor brain will be having to help her with HOMEWORK!!! WOW! lol

@Ro-LOL. Here's to hoping that the homework won't be that hard. And you're right, everything does happen for a reason.
ReplyDeleteLove this! There will always be naysayers and people telling you what you should have done or how you should be doing things. Ignore those people. You have a life purpose and a life mission that will be fulfilled -- whether you have one child or five children, your DESTINY is for you and you alone, and can be achieved. I love this post. It's such a pick-me-upper!

You will be just fine! I have two children, now 4 and 6 and It's not any harder than the first. It's very common to stop and the regroup...actually you should do it often! Working mother is a redundant statement so I'm sure you get plenty of work but most importantly take time for yourself. You'll never be good to anyone if you aren't good to yourself first! Let me know when the new addition comes...it's so exciting!
ReplyDelete@Alicia-You are so right. My destiny is for me & it can be achieved.
ReplyDelete@theatlgotogirl-Thanks!
