Sharing Is Caring

Sharing is caring. This is something I've been thinking a lot.  Y'all know that I'm a firm believer in giving to others.  Couple that with my want to better the utilize my Facebook page in a way that not only benefits me but my followers as well, I came up with the following memes below over the weekend.

Motherhood Monday

This will the day that everyone can stop by and share a link to anything post on their blog related to motherhood (or fatherhood because we do have a few men who support YUMMommy).  It can be anything from sharing your breastfeeding experience to talking about successes in potty training.

Tasty Tuesday

Did you try a new recipe from Pinterest?  Well, the link up on Tuesdays will be all about sharing recipes from main dishes to cocktails.

Whatever Wednesday

Think of it as Freestyle Friday, but in the middle of the week.  Any post/vlog goes.  Just no spam.  Whatever post you need some love shown to, just drop by the Facebook page and link it up in the comments.

Thankful Thursday

I've been finding that a lot of bloggers actually do Thankful Thursday posts.  Why not share them all in one place?

Fashionable Friday

I've been feeling the itch to get back into fashion again.  I never stopped loving it and now I'm ready to share more fashion related posts on the blog again.  And I'm also interested in checking out other fashion posts.  You never know where you might find inspiration for that next great outfit.

Social Saturday

We all know the fastest way to network is via social media.  Hence, Social Saturday will be all about sharing the two social media accounts that you want to build/grow the most.  Be it Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, Bloglovin or Instagram, you choose whatever two you want to link up and we'll stop by and show you some love.

Shareable Sunday

This all about sharing tips.  When I started blogging, I had no clue what I was doing.  I searched for easy to follow tutorials and tips posted by blogging geniuses.  After all the saying does say "each one, teach one."

I hope that you guys will join me on Facebook next week when I start these up.  Bloggers who support together, grow together is my motto.

Magazine Madness

I'm going nuts over trying to decide if I should take a leap and start an online magazine.  It's something that I've been thinking about since before I found out I was pregnant.  Then after I got pregnant with Moo, I really started to dream of doing a magazine that combined all aspects of my life-motherhood, fashion, marriage, etc.  I realize that to some reading this I may sound nuts.

After all I've got this blog, my Etsy shop, two kids at home 24/7, a marriage and other stuff. But since I'm kicking my bad habit of procrastinating to the curb, I feel like I could make an honest of go this.  It's more like I need to make an honest go of this.  It's time that I get more serious about my YUMMommy/YUMMommies brand.

This is a legacy that I'm leaving to my kids one day.  I want to make sure that my legacy and work is something they will be proud to carry on and pass down to their kids.  I want to make my mark on this world beyond just being a blogger.  Most importantly, I want to help others fulfill their dreams of getting their voices out there.  

My JET Magazine feature opened so many doors and put me on so many people's radar that I need to pay it forward.  Plus, the upside to all of this is that I've site that where I can publish an online magazine for FREE! That way once I get everything aligned and ready to go for a test run, I'm not really losing any money.  And of course, there's always the old-fashioned way of using MS Publisher and converting it to a PDF.

Either way, I've been praying really hard about this and I think I'm finally building up the courage to start work on the first issue.  I know in my gut that this has the potential to be a success.  However, undertaking a task that will be so time consuming scares me.  Will I find the time to make it work?  How will others respond to this magazine?

Will I be able to find quality writers?  Sponsors?  Sometimes, the road to success is scary.  But the it's time to sink or swim.  And I really want to swim.

The Big Reveal

That ladies and gentlemen is the new logo of Young Urban Modern Mommies.  Many of you don't know that YUMMommy is just one of the projects under the YUMM Brand umbrella.  I have such big dreams for YUMM and this logo and blog are just the beginning.  So, save this logo in your memory because you will be seeing it around. A lot!

Thankful Thursday

You all already know what time it is around here.  It's Thankful Thursday and as always I'm just going to jump right in it.  This week I am thankful that JJ's eczema is getting better. We went to the pediatrician and she gave him a wonderful cream that seems to be easing his itchiness.  We've also been just hanging out on the inside and avoiding the heat.

I'm thankful that I'm getting back on track with the whole potty training thing with Moo.  We were on a roll but then she just stopped being interested.   Well, she'll be three this winter and we are not going into 2012 still wearing diapers at age three. Not going to happen.  So, I got her a cute little Dora potty sit that fits over the toilet and we are back to making a progress.  Some days are better than others though.

I'm thankful that I'm finally getting a lot of new opportunities as far as writing, brand promotion and partnering with businesses.  I'm truly just jumping in with both feet now and not looking back or siking myself out.  If I get rejected fine, I just move on to the next one.  I'm turning 26 in few months and I have still have to accomplish stuff from my 5 year list. 

And while I'm talking about projects and progress, I have knew project in the works called Kolour Kraze.  I promise that more information is coming as soon as I get everything set up.  I'm really excited about it.  The idea just kind of popped into my head and now I'm running with it.

And I'm most thankful that tomorrow I will be able unveil the new and improved Young Urban Modern Mommies   (YUMM) logo.  I want to send a huge thank you and shout out to @beingmrsjones for helping me bring it to life and making it usable.  I had previously collaborated and brainstormed with one of my bffs and we came up with a cute logo but aside from drawing it on paper, I had no clue how to make that logo usable.  So, thank you Christina!!  More to come about this talented mommy.
